Video Conferencing Etiquette

Writer: Charles DavidsonCharles Davidson

Practice good video conferencing etiquette

You don’t want to be the person in your organization known for scheduling lots of unproductive meetings. Practicing good video conferencing etiquette is critical to ensuring that your meetings are professional, efficient, and valuable.

  • Make sure to introduce everyone at the beginning

  • Ensure that you have a clean, work-appropriate background

  • Look into the camera when talking instead of looking elsewhere

  • Eliminate distractions and focus on the agenda

  • Be aware of your audio and video settings

  • Only invite meeting participants who need to be there

  • If you’re the host, stick around for those after meeting questions
